Your monthly menstrual flow can get delayed
by a whole lot of things ranging from stress to
strenuous exercise and Hey! Before you get all
panicky, thinking you are pregnant. Check out
these factors that can make your periods come
a Lil bit late.
Stress
Stress can mess up with your periods big time,
if you are going through a mid-life crisis,
breakup or mourning the loss of a family
member or any other traumatizing life event, it
affects your ovulation and also the regularity of
your menstrual flow.
Weight loss/gain
Drastic weight loss or gaining extra pounds
rapidly can easily throw your hormones off
balance. This disrupts your ovulation cycle and
your periods come later than expected. In
some cases, people suffering from rapid weight
loss end up not seeing their monthly flow at
all.
Illness
If you fall sick at the time you would normally
ovulate, your ovulation gets delayed and your
periods come late. So, if you are a little bit
under the weather during the time you are
supposed to have your menstrual flow and it's
not forthcoming, no worries it's due to your
health condition.
Excess exercise
Getting yourself hooked to the gym hours a
day and exercising vigorously daily can upset
your periods. Excess exercise stresses the
body system and at the same time destabilizes
your monthly ovulation which in turn delays
your periods.
