’Nonye Ben-Nwankwo and Ademola Olonilua
Nine-year-old Diobo Kiendigi and her friends
held the audience spellbound with classical
music performances like never before during
the event tagged Kien and Friends Classical
Music Concert which was an avenue for kids to
showcase their skills on the violin, cello, piano
and saxophone.
Fondly called, Kien, she explained that she had
been playing the violin and piano instruments
since she was four.
She stated, “I just told my mother I would like
to be famous and great in future, though I did
not expect I would start up with music. I
started playing the instruments because I did
not want to hurt her feelings, I wanted to be a
good daughter, but I am enjoying it now.” According to the nine-year-old multi-
instrumentalist, she does not see herself
playing music forever, as she noted that she
might want to do other things at some point in
her life.
She said, “Someday, I would like to start a
family of my own and have a day-care school.
My interest is in art and my profession has
always been art. Since I was three years old, I
have been drawing and I always go to school
with papers because I draw a lot.”
