One time or the other you must have tossed
out your pot of soup or rice into the dustbin
cos it got burnt. It's a domestic issue that
happens all the time, either when you are busy
on the phone, watching the movie or chatting
with a friend and you neglected what you are
cooking in the kitchen and boom! You get a
whiff of your meal burning! Yeah, I know it's
disheartening. But, do you know you can
actually save your burnt meal? It's actually
possible to remove that unpleasant burnt smell
from your food. How? Find out below.
Switch pots
Scoop out the unburnt part from your food
while being careful not to scrape the burnt part
along with it. Then you transfer this to another
and you add seasoning to it if necessary.
Spice up your meal
If you still have a light burnt taste or smell in
your food afterward, you can add sweet-
smelling spices to help mask it. Apart from
these spices masking the burnt smell, your
meal will also gain more nutritious with the
addition of spices.
Use potato slices
After transferring the part of your meal that's
not burnt to another pot, slice raw peeled
potatoes, cut in half and place in your pot. Let
it simmer for 30-45 minutes then remove. The
potato slices will help in soaking up the burnt
taste or smell.
