D’banj gifts Toke Makinwa 1 million naira for her book

Celebrity OAP Toke Makinwa recently launched
her new book titled “On Becoming.” Having
made out time to put words together to make a
book, the OAP went further to have her book
launched conventionally, having no particular
expectations in mind. Her book, instead of
attracting the attention of bookworms and
potential “Soyinkas” and “Chimamandas,”
attracted the attention of the “Kokomaster.”
D’banj, who is not particular known for his love
for books, pledged to be of financial support to
the highly celebrated OAP and author with the
sum of 1 million naira only. Now, Toke
Makinwa has sounded the trumpet about the
Kokomaster’s redemption of his pledge to her
via her Instagram account. What a generous
act from our Kokomaster! In excitement, Toke
made to acknowledge receipt, and also thank
D’banj for his kind gesture. She wrote:

Dapooooooooo………We go way back and it’s
always been support, kindness, and more
support.Thank you for your huge contribution
to my book #OnBecoming. You really didn’t
have to. And I know you’ll be mad at me for
making this public. But we’ll talk it over. D’banj
made a pledge of 1 million Naira, and he
